Chung Ying Theatre Company
Established in 1979, Chung Ying Theatre Company has developed to be a professional theatre organization in Hong Kong. It is active in promoting original plays as one of its missions. In producing different genres of productions every year, Chung Ying dedicates itself to promote high quality productions for the audience. In the past 27 years, Chung Ying has produced over 160 stage performances. Within the fifteen Hong Kong Drama Award Ceremonies, Chung Ying got 107 nominations and 48 awards. Moreover, Chung Ying is the first local professional theatre company introducing “Theatre-in-Education”(TIE). In the 2nd Hong Kong Drama Award Ceremony, it had been praised for its contribution to local TIE development. Our objective of TIE is actually inline with that of modern education. They both aim at enhancing students’ multi-dimensional thinking, generalization and integration ability, creative thinking, critical thinking and language ability. Chung Ying had held over 3,000 school tour performances, with over 360,000 student audiences.
